I noticed something in a bareback porn video recently that made me think about the use of fake cum in porn productions and I have decided to publish a post about it. I will mention the particular scene as an example, but I will not identify any studios or models in this post, because this could lead to a bunch of studio or performer bashing comments and I want to focus on the issue of fake cum rather than attacking anyone. I do hope that studios will take notice of this issue and I also want to hear what you have to say. You are invited to participate in the poll at the end of this post and you are welcome to share your thoughts on this.

When it comes to producing porn, whether it’s straight, gay, condom or bareback, studios will often shoot the video first and later take photos of the performers in the same positions filmed throughout the video. The reason this is done is because the quality of the caps taken from video are not as good as high-resolution photographs, so by taking the photographs separately, this provides uninterrupted video and high-quality photographs. It is better to have a photographer on the set taking photos as the video is being filmed, that way you have actual photographs taken while the footage is being captured. The only problem with this is the cost involved, plus the photographer needs to turn off all sounds from the camera and use existing lighting to ensure the video does not record this. There is nothing worse than trying to watch a video with the flash activating every few seconds and the sound of the shutter release button on the camera producing distractions that reduce the enjoyment of watching the video.

Some studios who take photographs of the action after the video has been shot also use fake cum in the photos, which I don’t mind so much, just as long as it’s not used in the actual video and it’s not overdone. I would prefer seeing just the photos without the cum shots over the use of fake cum in the photos, because whenever I see fake cum, I start to wonder whether anything else has been faked. I have seen studios who showcase their high-resolution photos in their photo galleries, then include a few video caps at the end capturing the actual cum, which I think is better than fake cum or no cum at all. Studios differ when it comes to the photography aspect of their productions and some studios don’t even produce high-resolution photos because of the complications involved that I have mentioned above.

A bareback video I watched just the other day featured something I consider to be completely unnecessary, which promoted this post. Two guys were barebacking, then the top pulled out, ejaculated and put his dick back inside the bottom and fucked him some more (hot). When the top pulled out, the bottom pushed out what was supposedly a load of cum, which would have been great to see, but so much “cum” came out that it wasn’t realistic, because an orgasm never produces that much cum. When I took a closer look at the video, I noticed that when the were guys barebacking and the top pulled out, a different camera angle captured the top ejaculating and putting his cum-covered cock back inside the bottom. I believe it was at the point where the video cut took place is when the studio has pumped some fake cum inside the bottom so it looked like cum was leaking out. This would have been hot if the cum leaking out was real, but I am 99.99% sure that it wasn’t, based on the amount, consistency and color.

There are a number of ways you can produce fake cum, but one of the most common ways is to use a lubricant such as Spunk Lube, which is lube that looks like cum. Many years ago a bareback porn studio created a lube that replicated cum and it was called Bare Lube-It and I actually like the concept of lube that looks and feels like cum, but when the lube starts being used to replace cum, that’s a serious issue to me. The example I used in the previous paragraph involved a studio that proudly showcased the use of Spunk Lube in their photos and video, so I am sure they inserted Spunk Lube inside the bottoms ass to make this look like cum. I have also seen other examples where it looks like the guys are ejaculating, but with some creative camera work, it totally looks like fake cum is being used, particularly for performers who cannot cum on demand.

When I see fake cum used in bareback porn videos (or any porn video for that matter), it’s a real turn off and it makes me feel disappointed about the studio that produced the video. I then think about other videos the studio has produced and it makes me question whether fake cum was used in those videos as well. I know there are pressures on performers to cum on demand and also audiences who comment on things like a guy hardly ejaculating or not enough cum leaking out of an ass after a breeding climax, but I would prefer to see no cum or a small amount of cum if it’s real rather than fake cum. When I’m jacking off while watching a bareback porn video and I see fake cum, it certainly results in me experiencing a poorer quality orgasm than the powerful orgasms I’m used to experiencing and this is probably the case for others as well.

I would love to hear what you think about fake cum being used in bareback porn productions. I have created a poll asking for your thoughts about this and I would also love to hear what you have to say. If you want to share your thoughts, please leave your comments below, but I just ask you not to identify any studios or performers, because I would like to keep this discussion focused on fake cum rather than pointing out studios or performers (hopefully studios using fake cum will read this post and review the way they deal with cum).

Well, the reality is that this has been happening since time immemorial. That is, if by memorial, you mean the 1980’s. Jean-Daniel Cadinot mixed-up fake cum and sprayed it in his classic 1980’s pre-condom movies.

Hey Desslock Steve, You are right about fake being used from eons ago, but it seems to be getting worse, to the point where I had to bring this up by writing an entire post about it. How do we make it stop? We probably can’t, but I do appreciate your comment. I hope you voted too. 😉

I have noticed the same fake cumshots / cum scenes as you, Brad. One guy had three different sex scenes and in two of them he seemed to load his cum in another guy’s mouth. But his cock was weak and I don’t believe he really did cum. In the third scene he made a huge load of fake cum on another guy’s chest. I am very disappointed with this studio. Most of the scenes had natural cumshots, by some latest scenes show that they dare to make more fake cum scenes in the future. Who can stop them?

Hey Tommy, Fake cum used in porn seems to be getting worse and you’ve highlighted further examples to confirm this. You mentioned the studio in your example featured natural cum with most of their scenes, but some of their latest scenes feature fake cum, which for me brings down my impression of all their other scenes because you wonder whether the natural cum really is natural. Hopefully studios will start taking notice about this being an issue and will avoid the use of fake cum. Perhaps this is just a fantasy, but it would be great to see fake cum eliminated from porn videos.

I see danger with fake cum, if studios will produce more internal breeding scenes. It can be difficult to know if the cum is real or not. A particular gay porn studio produces a lot of internal breeding scenes but until now I believe that they don’t use fake cum. But what about others?

Brad Berrigan January 12, 2015 at 2:10 am Reply

Hey Tommy, I agree that if fake cum is considered acceptable, then more studios might start featuring the use of fake cum, which would then lower the quality of videos. Hopefully we won’t see fake cum used too much, because it’s a turn off and it’s not keeping things real.

I’m not sure why you don’t want to call out the studios that are guilty of it. Fake is fake. (or on the other hand the studios that never use fake cum – and i can think of 2 that I have never seen a drop of fake cum). I can usually tell fake cum in a second because the coloring is off and like you – if you look closely you can find that little edit cut that gives it away. You mentioned spunk but I think Str8cam lube is even more widely used and the guy who created it Str8cam Jeff even boasts about it.

Brad Berrigan January 12, 2015 at 2:20 am Reply

Hey Mike, The reason I don’t want to call out studios guilty of using fake cum is because I’ve seen comments at other gay porn blogs where participants enjoy writing nasty comments and I don’t want to see that here. I’m happy to see constructive feedback on this topic, but I want to keep this discussion on course. I would be more than happy to write a separate post on the issue and structure it differently to showcase studios that keep everything real. STR8cam Lube is also known as Spunk Lube – Jeff decided to offer his lube under two different brands and I mentioned Spunk Lube in my post (I probably should have mentioned both versions). I appreciate your comment Mike.

Hello-

a very interesting topic that has been talked about for years. as i see it i am wary of a big cum load on a guy’s hole or in his mouth unless i see it being popped from a throbbing cock.

Hey Joseph, This topic has been talked about for years, but I’ve noticed the use of fake cum seems to be getting worse. Some studios are finding more creative ways to incorporate the use of fake cum in their videos and that’s why I thought it was appropriate to open a discussion about this.

They fake everything. Some of the guys are so disgusted by what they are doing, they gag. They fake the moans-that bothers me more than even the fake gays. Surprised you are bothered by this, when there is so much fake sex -straight guys acting. It’s not sex when they are acting, it is a show. I don’t watch sports to see scripted games, I don’t watch porn to see scripted sex.

Hey bigrawtop, It’s sad when guys in porn need to use fake cum to make it look like they’re ejaculating and it certainly takes the enjoyment away from what you’re experiencing when you see it happening right before your eyes. When it comes to sex, I also like it to be real and it doesn’t matter whether the guys are gay, bisexual or straight, if the guys are enjoying their experience, then that’s what’s important. If the guys aren’t enjoying their sexual experience, then it does make watching them less enjoyable, so I understand what you are saying and where you are coming from.

One of the reasons I love bareback porn — and only bareback porn — is because is more honest, real and natural. It involves a full commitment on the part of both the top and the bottom. I find the idea of fake cum totally at odds with the very things I value about bareback porn.

Brad Berrigan January 25, 2015 at 12:29 pm Reply

Hey Jake, You have raised an excellent point about bareback porn being more honest, real and natural. This is very true and in condom porn the natural element is removed through the inclusion of a condom, so when fake cum is incorporated into bareback scenes, this also removes the natural aspect of barebacking and turns it into something completely different. Hopefully the fake cum will stop being used by studios, because it does remove the natural essence from barebacking. I appreciate your comment Jake.
