If you’ve been hanging out at Hot Studs lately waiting for a new bareback release, you might be wondering when the next update will happen, since there’s usually a new update each week. I noticed the lack of bareback updates a couple of weeks ago, so I write to Helix Studios to ask if they had ceased producing bareback porn. As the studio is based in California, I thought they may have stopped filming bareback scenes as a result of the mandatory condom requirement in Los Angeles, even though the studio is not based in LA. I was advised that Helix Studios have started acquiring more attractive models and this has resulted in more models that are unwilling to have bareback sex. I already thought their models were hot, so it seems that they’re going after bigger names and hot new talent to really make their studio stand out. Helix Studios did tell me that they will continue to film bareback scenes when they can match models that are prepared to have bareback sex, so they have not stopped filming bareback porn, but the number of scenes will be reduced as a result of these changes. The site has also blended the Hot Studs studio into the Helix Studios branding, with a bareback category at the top of the page the way to find bareback scenes. I have a couple more bareback scenes to share with you, including this hot update featuring Connor Kline and Casey Tanner. Helix Studios offers an extensive selection of bareback videos, so a membership is still worthwhile for those of you not waiting for the latest weekly update.

This scene was done about 4 months ago with boyfriends Connor Kline & Casey Tanner, that’s why it was bb. Helix hasn’t done any recent bb scenes until this week, because they didn’t ask any models to do them and some of their bb models were taking a break. They churn through twinks pretty quickly there. Also, they are trying to add more muscle studs so they can compete more with the Sean Cody & Corbin Fisher crowd. Most of these guys are just rentals from other studios and not exclusive, so its harder to get them to bb, since they want to be available for as many studios as possible.

Thanks for your insight Seth regarding the situation with Helix Studios. The scene featuring Connor Kline and Casey Tanner was from a while back – I have been holding onto it so I could release the scene at the right time and I feel that now is the right time. It’s a shame that there will be less bareback scenes at Helix Studios, because they have a great site and I have always enjoyed showcasing updates from their site. You sound very knowledgeable about the happenings at Helix Studios based on the details you have shared here, so thank you for contributing to this topic.

I think the statement from Helix is boarder line offensive, suggesting they can’t get good looking people to bb. That has to be the biggest line of BS.

Hey Jordan, I agree that the statement from Helix Studios regarding their acquisition of hotter looking models being less prepared to have bareback sex can be construed that bareback models are not as hot as models who use condoms. I don’t think they meant for their response to sound like this, but it does and I was also offended a little bit when I first read their response.

Seth has elaborated further by saying that Helix Studios is trying to capture a bigger market by going after performers that work with other studios and as a result, these models may not be willing to have bareback sex because of the policies and commitments they have with other studios regarding barebacking. If Seth is who I think he is, then he has an intimate knowledge of Helix Studios and his comment has clarified the change in direction Helix Studios is taking and more details about the reason behind the reduction in bareback production.

I think Helix Studios explanation was brief and may not have come out the way it was intended. I believe that Helix Studios has some of the hottest models around and I am impressed with their site, so it’s a real shame that these changes are resulting in a reduction in the number of bareback porn scenes they’re filming and releasing.

Helix has severely changed. Regarding the bb, one model told me that he was not aware he was doing a condom free scene until they were actually filming. Also Helix has become very clickesque, and actually quite snobby. Definitely not the same since Kyle and Max left, which was rumored about pay but something tells me its because of all the shadiness.

Thanks for your comment Matt regarding Helix Studios. I was very surprised to hear that a model told you he was not aware that he was doing a condom-free scene until they were filming, because it goes against the policy on their website that states: “Bareback: All parties to a scene must agree to eliminate the use of condoms.” Their website also states: “Testing: All models are tested prior to filming a condom free scene. All models are entitled to testing prior to any filming.” They do add that they do not require testing if boyfriends or friends are filming together when they are familiar with each other.

Their model application page includes the question: “Will you perform non condom?”. I would find it disturbing if what the model says is true and that he didn’t know he was doing bareback filming, because I believe it’s important for models to make an informed decision about whether they are comfortable about barebacking and part of making this decision should involve research and careful consideration, which would need to be done beforehand. If the model was asked on the spot, then this would worry me because it eliminates the model being able to make an informed decision through research and there would probably be the feeling of pressure if a model was asked this question on the set just before filming was scheduled to take place.

I don’t know anything about why models may have left the studio or details about pay, but I do hope that the studio is applying the policies it states on its website. I am very cautious about reacting to something that someone has said without the other person/organization responding to get both sides of the story. I do try to take what is said at face value, but I know from experience it is best to be cautious about these things. People sometimes say things that may not be true if they’ve had a disagreement, but the truth is what is most important. I’m not discounting what you’re saying, because I appreciate you taking the time to leave your comment here, I just want to balance what the person told you with what’s on the Helix Studios website. Of course, it’s also important to consider that what’s on their website may not reflect what actually happens, so I just hope that the studio operates professionally and treats their models with respect.
